How patients respond to the price of health care lies in the central interest for academia and policymakers, and the current answer is not enough in contexts of highly nonlinear price schemes. In this paper, we exploit two natural experiments in the same health insurance scheme and study how patients response to spot price change and future price change. Our analysis suggests an elasticity w.r.t. spot price is 0.11~0.169 and elasticity w.r.t. average year-end price is 0.86~0.92, suggesting that patients are more sensitive to the future price.
主讲人简介
宋弘，复旦大学经济学院副教授，新加坡国立大学经济学博士。研究领域为发展经济学、劳动经济学。论文发表于Journal of Labor Economics，Journal of Development Economics、《经济研究》《管理世界》《经济学季刊》《金融研究》等国内外权威期刊。入选国家级人才计划青年项目，获得第五届张培刚发展经济学青年学者奖、上海市曙光学者、上海社科新人、洪银兴经济学奖等。主持国家自科基金面上项目、青年项目、教育部人文社科项目。担任国际知名期刊Journal of Asian Economics（SSCI）与 China and World Economy（SSCI）副主编，《世界经济文汇》编辑。资政成果多次被国家和地方政府部门采纳。
